Phase 2 pediatric orthodontics is designed to realign and bring together a child’s teeth. Typically, at this point, all their permanent teeth have erupted, making it easy for traditional metal brackets and wires to be bonded into place. Once your child’s orthodontist believes they are ready for Phase 2 treatment, we will start the process of placing the metal brackets and wires on their teeth. The average timeframe for treatment is 12-24 months depending on the severity of your child’s case.
During this time, steady pressure will be applied, causing their teeth to shift. Every few weeks, your child will be expected to visit our office for a checkup with Dr. Georgy.
